RG-59 coax with BNC male connections and BNC female to SMA male adapter for QFH antenna with RTL-SDR?

As the title says I'm wondering weather I can use RG-59 coax that has a BNC male connection to build a QFH antenna? I will then use a BNC female to SMA male adapter to connect the antenna to the RTL-SDR V3 dongle.

I have added the links to both items however, they are in danish since that's where I live so don't expect to understand everything the website says;)

Thank you in advance!

Sudden noise in 433/434MHz

Sudden noise in 433/434MHz

Hi all,

been using a SDR setup now for a while with rtl433 to monitor my Oil tank level - been working a charm and then on Friday it stopped reporting the level. I figured it was batteries etc, all to no avail. Anyway I then checked on RTLSDR and can see a really strong signal at 434MHz and for the life of me cannot figure out what it can be. It appears to be interfering with the signals at 433.927 that I'm used to seeing.

Key info:

  • Cheap (£10) dongle and basic antenna
  • I live way in the countryside so usually don't see anything other than my oil tank and my car tyre pressure sensors
  • I've got a spare dongle and antenna and have the same view as this one
  • I've checked all car keys and other 433 things to make sure a button wasn't stuck down

I figured it may be that as I'm running them 24x7 that something has broken inside the dongle (overheat?) so have ordered another as they are only £10. I can see when it stopped reprting (to the minute) and nothing else of interest happened at that time.

Any suggestions welcome!

Comment on An Overview of the Elektor SDR Hands-on Arduino Shield Kit by David C Jackson

Yeah. If it was like $20USD and you didn’t have to solder the headers on (from what it looks like), I’d be down.

What to do with HackRF One?

Hello! I have used a RTL-SDR for 3 year, and did almost everything that was possible with it. Received from NOAA and Meteor satellites, dump1090, rtl_433, and other things. I bought a HackRF One because I wanted to try other things, but it was an impulsive buy. Gqrx works with it, only sometimes, and i didn't find any project to use the TX feature. What do you guys do with it, what are some fun projects? I prefer projects that work on Linux.

Two saw bird filters?

Can I put two sawbird filters in line? Will this damage the second filter? I can’t get any reception with just one.

Something like multimon, but for analog?

Any suggestions on something I can pipe raw IQ into into for decoding?

Was hoping to find something like rtl_fm, but can be feed via stdin.

Can be done via GNU Radio, but would love to find something more efficient and done in C if possible.
