Troubleshooting Help • Frequency shift?

I am new to rtl-sdr and the first thing I did was to select Direct Sampling Q branch to look in HF.
Could no find much until by luck I found a signal I could identify in 27.339631 MHz It was an AM commercial transmission I know transmits in 1.460 MHz
Does anyone have an idea on what I could look for to correct this frequency shift? I have gone thru the Quick Start, V3 setup and will soon start with the Hobbyits Guide to RTL-SDR so probably I will find the answer someday, but a little help is appreciated. For now I setup SDR# according to quick start (Shift is not enabled).
Seems to work fine with Quadruple Sampling for VHF.

RTL-SDR Discussion • Re: sdr uno hdsdr how are filters set?

why not d/l the HDSDR – V2.76A (13TH JUL 2018) from sdrplay.com/downloads? if I recall correctly, it was documented therein. just pull the EXTIO PLUGINS – V1.2 (13TH JUL 2018).
While the fourm is shut down, everything else is alive and well.

He has no choice but to fork it if Yousef won’t allow/merge pull requests.

Antennas • Beginner HF/shortwave Antenna Recommendations?

Can someone please recommend me a simple/easy/compact/portable antenna(s) to receive 10 meters, 20 meters, popular shortware? And AM broadcast would be nice too.

Want something easy to get started, and doesn't have to be cheap.

Might a loop antenna be good to get started with?

Yeah. I am having the same question to myself! I also have a PL660!

Comment on Manual Installation of SDR# by admin

SDR# upgraded to a more modern .NET version which doesn’t support XP a long time ago. Unfortunately it’s way too old for the new code. Some alternative software options for XP are HDSDR and SDR-Console V3.

Updates on the PICTOR Low Cost Open Source Radio Telescope Based on RTL-SDR

Back in July we posted about PICTOR, an open source and RTL-SDR based radio telescope project. The owner of the project recently wrote in and wanted to share some updates. His text is below:

A few months ago, PICTOR was launched. PICTOR is a free to use open source radio telescope that allows anyone to observe the sky in the 1300~1700 MHz range at any time via the easy-to-use online platform.

The goal of this effort is to introduce students, educators, astronomers and others to the majesty of the radio sky, promoting radio astronomy education, without the need of building a large and expensive radio telescope.

Since the initial launch, PICTOR has gotten lots of updates and improvements, particularly in the software backend, providing more data to the users, using advanced techniques to increase the signal-to-noise ratio by calibrating spectra and mitigating radio frequency interference (RFI) (if present).

Here is an example observation with PICTOR, clearly showing the detection of 3 hydrogen-dense regions corresponding to 3 unique spiral arms in the Milky Way!

Graphs from the PICTOR RTL-SDR Radio Telescope showing the 3 unique spiral arms in the Milky Way.

If you’re new to radio-astronomy, the developer of PICTOR has provided a PDF including some introductory radio astronomy information and instructions on how to observe the radio sky with PICTOR: https://www.pictortelescope.com/Observing_the_radio_sky_with_PICTOR.pdf

I'm having the same problem. Do you solve this problem?
