KerberosSDR • Re: looking to duplicate something, what causes start.sh in /home/pi to launch

I think there's some legacy history at play here...

I finally found it...

/etc/xdg/autostart is where within kerberos.desktop a [Desktop Entry] for Name=Kerberos has a Exec=/home/pi/start.sh

Now that I've found this is time to go back to the start for my use case and I think adhere to current approach and within ~/.config create a lxsession so mine config matches current docs...

KerberosSDR • Re: KerberosSDR on Samsung Tablet

Hi all, I am a newbie to the KerberosSDR and have just set it up with my raspberry pi. I purchased a new tablet running android 8.1 specifically for this application and found that its not compatible with my device. I've tried some tricks mentioned on YouTube to no avail. I don't want to purchase a phone as I use iPhone. Please can you do something to make it work on the tablet please as per the Samsung user. Quite disappointing that I got this far with the kit purchased from the USA and still can't use it. Thank you.

Careful with aliexpress, I’ve done 2 total transactions with them and both times my CC info was compromised. And once someone somehow used my paypal info to buy something and have it delevered in china. It was a low cost item and they quickly refunded my paypal when i complained, but still, it was very weird. I’d avoid them. YMMV

Thanks Bill and Gerry – I totally forgot about these two options for sourcing China stuff!

Off-Topic • GPS Jamming detection

first time poster... my background is I used to work in IT, have limited programming skills but moved on a new career after. I developed an interest in aviation and have a couple of Pi's running ADSB receivers. However, I've developed a new interest around GPS.

My understanding (and please correct me if I'm wrong) is that GPS relies on a timed pulse, this allows it to be detected among the background noise - as seemingly random peaks aren't random anymore when timed?

I'm wondering can a SDR detect a GPS jammer? Given that a jammer I'm assuming has to overwhelm the weak strength signal of GPS but would an SDR be able to pick this up?

Baseband recording on Android

Is it possible? Just got a new phone which has enough processing power to do a bit of SDR. I'd like to use it for some on-the-go reception of narrowband signals. Are there any apps that support baseband recording so that I can later process the signals on my desktop?

KerberosSDR • Re: KerberosSDR on Samsung Tablet

That would be wonderful and very community helpful on still supporting widely used tablets. I'm able to run it on my phone but more screen real estate is always helpful.

KerberosSDR • looking to duplicate something, what causes start.sh in /home/pi to launch

Subject has everything.

What causes /home/pi/start.sh to be called and launch kerbersossdr. Trying to duplicate the launch on another system for APRS, also what launches the radar window that briefly pops up when KerberosSDR gets the the desktop. I see start.sh bring up kerberossdr, but not what the radar.
