How to (properly) listen to SSB voice?

I'm having trouble with listening to SSB voice transmissions. Even when the signal is very strong and clear (Es'Hail-2), the voice transmission is unintelligible. The voice sounds almost as if you took an audio recording and turned down the sample rate until you can't make out any words.

It is possible to read someone's callsign when they spell it out phonetically, slowly, and multiple times, but I can not really understand any sentences.

This happens with both SDR# and Gqrx. Is there some setting I'm missing or something? What should the bandwidth be, just enough to fit the signal or with extra space above the voice, so that the pitch stays reasonable?

EDIT: AM (airband) and NFM (CB) both are received clearly

Satellites between 9.775 and 11.4GHz

I finally got my LNB and dish working. I successfully received Es'Hail-2, but also many other beacons. Problem is, I have no clue how to decode them to actually find out what satellite I'm receiving. There is many more signals coming from the geostationary ring than I thought.

The LNB is not PLL, so the frequency is roughly 1MHz off and is very slowly drifting up (maybe because of it heating up?), but I just want to use it for testing before I actually buy a better one (my current setup cost me roughly $0, disregarding the SDR, I'm just reusing old, off-the-shelf components). The LNB can do both horizontal and vertical polarisation.

Do you have some tips about receiving geostationary satellites? Is there perhaps some sort of list of frequencies? I found one list of beacon frequencies, but from the entire list only two satellite beacons are listed in the range of my LNB, so all the other signals I receive remain unknown.

So far the highest frequency I worked was 435MHz...

Try installing a new version of SDR#.

Your files indicate you may be trying to run the 64 bit version and after a couple years something else doesn't like it.

Getting two LNAs???

would getting more hardware LNAs make a signal better? Or would it that make it more distorted, because it would possibly make the noise around it louder along with it?

Other SDR Devices • Flightaware Dongles in RTL-SDR Case

So there could be a few places to post this but I figured this one was best. I have purchased some spare RTL-SDR cases from the website and they finally arrived, after doing some research I also bought some 3mm thermal gap pads as is used on the RTL-SDR dongle and now I want to put my Flightaware dongles in the RTL-SDR cases.

My big problem I can't figure out how to get the gap pad to contact both surfaces well but not stick while trying to install it. I tried finding instructions from when RTL-SDR offered an upgrade kit or a how-to from someone else that did it as I know others have but no luck. Any tricks or ideas?

Power SPF5189Z LNA using rtl-sdr v3 bias tee?

Hi,
I recently upgraded from a generic sdr stick of ebay to my new rtl-sdr v3 stick. I want to use the internal bias tee to power a spf5189z lna. I saw a picture on which the center of the rtl-sdr input which supplies the 4.5v was directly connected to the 5v input of the lna. I don't know how the lna is internally wired, is this method safe to use?
