It's transmitting in the air band spectrum, at 120MHz, accompanied by some other signals.

When I first tuned into it, it "beeped" twice a second, with a slight "click" being heard every second. Then, after an hour or so, its tempo seems to have doubled.

I initially received it on my vertical CB antenna that I have just outside the house. I then connected the SDR to a different computer just to eliminate a possible noise source, but it was still there. Then I completely disconnected the antenna, and I could still see a trace of the signal (although much weaker than other electric noise), so either the source is very close or very powerful (comparable in power to an FM radio station, just touching the coax core was enough to receive it again).

Any idea what this signal is? There is a new small weather station/sensor roughly 200m from me, on top of an old electric pole, but I don't know if it's wireless or not (and even if it was, would it be allowed to transmit inside the air band with such a high bandwidth?).

EDIT: it kinda sounds like an image transmission, similar to SSTV or APT, with the 1-second click for synchronization

rtl_433: sentrol sensors (wired) + TAKE-345 (converts 8 hardwired zones to wireless)

I have a 20y old set of wired sensors installed in my house. The house is divided in 8 zones. A TAKE-345 (FCC ID) converts signals from the 8 zones to w'less signals (2Gig) on 345mhz.

With RTL_433 I identified the signals on some zones:

Zone 1 has a door sensor and signals (each repeated 6 times):

{50} 00 03 84 6a 01 a4 00 // door 1 open 

{51} 00 03 84 6a 02 60 00 // door 1 closed

Zone 2 has a door sensor and signals (each repeated 6 times):

{50} 00 03 84 6e 04 24 00 // door 2 open 

{51} 00 03 84 6c 01 60 00 // door 2 closed

The above is consistent (i.e. easily correlated with the doors opening and closing).

I receive other transmissions but I am not sure what they indicate (garage door (zone 5), windows (zones 3,4,6-8), glass break sensor (w'less), tilt sensor (w'less)).

Is this enough to create a config file for rtl_433 in order to integrate with MQTT?

Hello,

New at this. Have just bought the
RTL Dongle.

If I want to use sdr# and acarsd,
or wacars, for acars decoding, do I
need a virtual audio cable, or is
setting Windows10 to Stereo Mix
all that is needed ?

What is the HF range of the V3 dongle?

By HD I mean setting SDR# to direct sampling mode.

I am interested in the reception of weather fax from Germany and the UK. Those transmit between 2.5MHz and 12MHz.

I could not find a definite answer to my question, most people just show it working with AM radio stations, but don't go higher or lower in frequency.
