JEL, do you think if I could get a more robust SDR I would solve this problem?

Strong signals from nearby aircraft elevate the SNR to 60dB, "killing" the audio.(Audible SNR is at most 35dB, here)

In GOOGLE research, I read about how to make a signal reducer with electrical resistive components, but I have no idea how to put it together.

I also would not know how to make my antenna more "deaf". It is made of 4 strands of 6mm copper with the length of 59cm.

Try the alternatives like HDSDR and SDR-Console and see if the same thing happens.

I can receive NOAA but I can’t receive Meteor M2

Hi guys so I was trying to receive NOAA 15/18/19 and was relatively successful https://imgur.com/a/BPgHpGY but when it comes to Meteor M2 I am not able to get more than 2MB of data. The signal is always weak. I use turnstile antenna tuned for 137.5MHz(home made from aluminium rods). Thanks for any advice

I have the same issue and I found this post googling.

I recieved my new rtl-sdr v3 last week.

I installed rtl_biast in windows and tested the V3 dongle with the same sw installation I had been using with V2.

I found 4.4 Volts output with the polymeter and rtl_biast -b 0 does not turn it off. I read that there could be some problems with TV drivers in windows so I decieded to test in RaspberryPi where I'm sure I have DVB-T drivers blacklisted. Same issue, BiasT is on when the dongle is plugged and rtl_biast -b 0 does not turn it off.

Is it a HW problem definetively?

Beginner Question

Beginner Question


so I got my new RTLSDR dongle in the mail today and I got it all set up and can listen to my local FM stations just fine. I watched a couple of videos on how to use SDR# and naturally, I started to look around for what else I can listen into. I found mostly nothing (probably due to the shitty antenna I have right now) but I did find some "elevated" things that look similar to normal signals I can listen to. (See picture) However, no matter what option I choose, I can not hear what's going on at all. Is my antenna simply too useless? Or what else can I do? I am an absolute beginner so I know very little about everything.

I'm in Germany btw, in case that helps. And also, I've uploaded the image my post is referring to.

Появилась необходимость принять сигнал gps на sdr и провести анализ мощности принятого сигнала по корреляционному пику(без дальнейшей обработки).Интересует вопрос реализации в програмной среде матлаб,хотелось бы узнать можно это осуществить или нет. и какое оборудование для этого нужно

My SDR runs for 5 to 10 sec then msg says “SDR Sharp has stopped working” I re-start and the same thing happens over and over again.

Try SpyServer from Airspy. It's compatible with RTL-SDRs.

An LNA is only going to help you if you have a long run of coax. If that's the case, try our Wideband LNA available on our store, or if you don't have a bias tee capable RTL-SDR, try the LNA4ALL.

I can't say that makes any sense to me (that an increase in gain let's the too-strong signals come through) but sometimes the world of radio-signals is mysterious.

I hope you find a useful solution (How about an antenna that is more 'deaf' to signals coming from above it? I don't know if that's really feasible though. It would probably have to be too precise in how its lobes are distributed to be practically possible)
