Troubleshooting Help • paInvalidSampleRate

I have installed an RTL-SDR dongle many times - never getting it to work with C#. When I hit the arrow (run) I get the error message shown in the subject box. I purchased a second dongle to be sure it was a software issue and not a hardware issue. I follow the instructions on the rtl-sdr.com web site for installation. I have experimented with different sample rates but usually use 2.048 MSPS. Actually I don't think it has anything to do with sample rate but is a faulty installation. I would very much appreciate any assistance.

[Question]Are there more LRPT satellites?

I already recieved many Meteor M2 satellites. So the question is if there are any more satellites that still transmit LRPT images? I know that the MetOp satellites do not transmit LRPT anymore. Anbody who has some more information?

User Projects • Built the up-converter from January 2013 QST

I built the converter so I could copy the HF and MF bands from 1.8 MHz to 30 MHz. It's a fairly simple circuit with an NE612 or NE602 mixer chip and a 125 MHz clock oscillator chip.

I felt the need to keep local AM BC and FM BC out of the mixer so I included a VHF filter on board for FM and used an external HPF for AM BC. This meant that I needed to match the input Z of the chip (to properly terminate the filter) which the original author didn't do. Later I also added a matcher for the output Z when I was having problems with low sensitivity. But they turned out to be unrelated to impedance matching. Fixed now.

It seems to be working pretty well with the dongle and SDR#.

It does produce a lot of spurs as signal levels rise up to -60 dBm and greater. A switchable attenuator might be good.

Yes, the tuning knob helped a lot.

Changing the numbers displayed at the top for some odd reason only produced changes with every 50 to 100 Hz of change.

FYI re: the pi hat — R278 comes out to about $20 (US dollars). That seems like a very reasonable price… but I am not sure if Giga will ship to the U.S. (trying to get a quote for shipping got me an option for using my own shipping company?!). It would be really nice if Anton partnered with a U.S. firm to manufacture/sell/distribute such hats over here.

What’s cool about this is that it actually has two band filters on it — 2 meter ceramic as well as pads for 7-element Chebyshev low pass filter. I think you will need to populate the pads for the second filter, but it should allow one to both use (say) 2 meter APRS as well as 30 meter WSPR.

I made a 137MHz NOAA bandpass filter. Here are some pictures of the filter and spectrum!

I decided to make the filter from here to improve my NOAA images.

I had the opportunity to use an arbitrary waveform generator (set to produce noise) and a signal analyzer at my university. The yellow line is the input to the filter, and the blue line is the output from the filter.

It looks like there is about 5dB attenuation on the pass band, and about 33dB attenuation below 117MHz and above 177MHz. I'll have the opportunity to test it with a VNA in the coming weeks, so I'll post an update when I get a chance to use it.

These are the clearest pictures I have been able to get from NOAA 19. Still working on my set up but I am super proud so far. I already have a LNA on the way so hopefully that helps. Homebrew QFH > NooElec SDR.

Troubleshooting Help • SDR# — Getting Spyserver IP dropdown selections

Is there a way to get multiple IP addresses to show up in the Source/Spyserver drop down box? I could manually add one to the SDRSharp.exe.config file but it gets deleted once I choose one. SDR# version is 1.0.0.1664

With 12GB/s memory bandwidth and 8 cores(4xA15+4xA7), I don’t see that as being outside of the limits of an XU4 with well selected SIMD instructions and good fast DSP. It may not be trivial, but it should be possible. A XU4 has roughly 5x the number crunching power of a RPi3. It is a bit of a beast, but to run at that level of performance continuously a better cooling solution than the default they ship would be required.
